- Body: 50% polyester 32% nylon 18% nylon; Weight: 150 g/m2 15,000mm waterproof 15,000 g/m2/24-hour breathability; Technology: titanium; Use simple detergents with no additives; Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product; The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better.; Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance; Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names; Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water; If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water; This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. Read the care content label; On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece; On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions; On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves You can use the dryer, carefully; If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting); This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities; If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.

Great jacket initially, second thoughts after some time
By mad max
I bought this jacket in November '11. I was hard crossed between this jacket and the Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell jacket. After some back and forth I decided I liked the styling and weatherproofing on this jacket better. It didn't offer much warmth, but layering would take care of that.
Initially I loved this jacket. The fit is great, it looks great, it's comfortable to ride in and the weatherproofing was excellent. Water would just bead up and run off.
After 7 months of wear I have some issues with the jacket.
First, the collar isn't tight enough and it doesn't have a cinch cord. So you have a loose collar hanging around your neck where wind and water can enter.
Next, the threading around the collar started coming out. This happened after about 1 month of wear. For >$300, I expect better.
Finally, it appears the waterproofing on the jacket is gone. I rode in the rain several times in the past few weeks and it appears the jacket not only fails to repel water, but actually _absorbs_ it. My arms were soaking wet this morning.
I love a lot of things about this jacket, but for the price I expected better build quality and more durable waterproofing.
I might send this in for warranty.

Great rain jacket
By Eric from Phila.
Very high quality materials, features, and construction. This is very thin, very flexible material so you can roll it up and fit it into a (large) jersey back pocket if necessary. The 4" zipper on the sleeve cuffs is esp. nice and Pearl should use that feature for all of its jackets.
What it lacks - Better visibility (red is mostly black on the back), 2-way main zipper, pull cord to tighten collar (although it does already fit pretty close when fully zipped) and a bit more ventilation would make it perfection but I still love it and highly recommend.
Cut is fairly slim so looks like a racing jacket instead of a baggy commuter and does not flap or have excess material but cannot put too many layers underneath.

Best jacket I've tried
By Bau-Lin
I've tried many jackets for cold weather and rain. This one is the best by far. I needed something that can handle 30-40* cold weather as well as stand up to the rain. I don't ride in rainy weather often, but if I want to, I want to be able to do it dry. I also want to be able to take the jacket off and stuff it in my jersey if the weather warmed up. Finding a jacket thats warm, waterproof, and portable is asking for a lot. This jacket exceeded my expectation. It's so thin and light, you can take it off and fit it into your jersey pocket, but somehow it traps in heat to keep you warm while being breathable so you don't over heat. It replaced a soft shell wind breaker and a heavier rain jacket (which totaled about 2x the cost of this jacket). The technology of the material is amazing. For those days when the mornings are freezing cold (and sometimes raining), and then the weather clears up and gets warm, this jacket fits the bill.
